What do you have to do to check the Seller?

Following details related to the ‘seller’ are important to be kept in mind and asked:

• Firstly, does the seller have the V5C to show to you?, after which you carry out a comparison between the V5C and documents, to make sure all the documentation provided is matched by the details mentioned on the V5C.
• Find out if the V5C seller is the registered keeper on the V5C? 
• Can you have a look at his ID?; to gain information on his identity, for security and trust reasons. 
• Are you satisfied enough about if the seller has the ownership or the right to sell the vehicle? e.g do they have a bill of sale/receipt to show as proof? (keep in mind that the V5C cannot be used to prove this).
